NJMSA Mission Statement

The mission of the New Jersey Middle School Association (NJMSA), an affiliate of the National Middle School Association, is to promote the best practice in middle level education in the state of New Jersey that will result in true, genuine, developmentally responsive middle schools statewide. To accomplish this mission, NJMSA provides a myriad of professional growth opportunities for middle level educators through workshops, seminars and state wide conferences.  NJMSA joins forces with institutions of higher learning to promote courses and certification in middle level education as well as collaborating with other associations providing experiences for middle level educators.

Such events increase awareness of middle schools and the effective practices that truly engage early adolescents in developing both cognitive and affective growth within the middle school learning community.
